Graduation

Yay! N got her post-academic degree yesterday. After the official part, during which each of the seventeen of her classmates got a personal speech and their certificates, our families and us first went for lunch to Bar Pepper. There we had soup and bread:

Fresh tomato-soup. Slightly tangy. Nice touch of spring-onions.

Selection of exquisite slices of bread, topped with combinations like great pesto, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and beetroot-shoots; creamed cheese, cucumber, marinated chicken and garden cress shoots; and salmon, lettuce and a sweet-sour-dressing.

In the evening, we went for dinner to our new great-restaurant-discovery: "Brasserie Moeke". Hidden in a small village, it offered a great selection of dishes. Seldomly had we been so much in doubt about what to choose, from just so little options.

Deer steak.

Sides of salad and potatoes au gratin.

Selection of fruits for the lactose-intolerant N.

Preiselbeeren-bavarois.

Apricot(?)-beignet

Cream of hazelnut

Selection of cheeses with bread of figs, and a raisin-celery-chutney.

Creme brulee, coffee-scented. (Espresso-ice-cream! Whow!)

Great red wine! La Linda, Argentinian, from 2008.

Less great: little cake-cubes served with the coffee, slightly dry and not so full of flavour.

All in all, this was a great restaurant-experience. If you ever happen to be in the neighbourhood of the village of Diepenveen (near Deventer), be sure to visit this restaurant.
